Charlie's Felt Name Book

UPDATE: There is now a tutorial and patterns available for you to create your own Felt Name Book!!!

After spending months working on Mason's felt book I swore I would never make another...what a joke! When it comes to crafty projects I just can't say no!

I'm very pleased with the result, and this time around it was SO much easier to make! The secret...Wonder Under! That stuff is amazing, and so easy to use. With Mason's book I used fabric glue to tack down all the felt before I embroidered and it turned into a nightmare. Once the glue dried it was almost impossible to stick a needle through it and I ended up having to use pliers to push the needle in and out of the fabric. I never thought I would finish it. But this time, with the Wonder-Under, the felt was still very flexible and easy to sew through, even in places where there were three or more layers of felt! Anyway, if anyone wants to see a little tutorial of how I make these books I would be happy to post a few pictures and instructions, so just let me know!

Now for the pictures...

Thanks everyone! I do still intend on making a tutorial! I've already drawn out patterns for the remaining letters of the alphabet, now I just have to go back and fix some of the old ones. I'm close to having my baby though so I'm just not sure when it will happen. Check back though in the next month or so and hopefully it will all be up!

This is ADORABLE! If you have any pointers on how to make one, I'd be forever grateful - I'm betting my (almost) 3 yr old and 15 month old would love one!

I love this idea and the patterns are so cute! I'm wondering how you put all the pages together to bind it into a book. Thanks for sharing!

These are just AMAZING! Can you talk about how you bound the pages together?

Can you explain how you bundled up pieces of ribbon for the "water" coming out of the elephant trunk?

And a second question! How did you do the rabbit whiskers and what did you use?

Arptia- for the water spout I made a small tassel and stitched the knot to the felt. The rabbit whiskers were made out of very thin and flexible jewelry "wire".
